Imcivree (setmelanotide) is licensed only for rare genetic obesity and prescribed through specialist services, not retail providers. How to avoid illegal sellers
- Check the registers. Legitimate pharmacies appear on the GPhC register and clinics on the CQC register.
- No consultation is a hard stop. These are prescription-only medicines. A seller who skips the medical questionnaire is breaking the law, whatever the price.
- Avoid social-media sellers. Medicines bought through Instagram, Telegram or marketplace listings are unregulated, frequently counterfeit, and outside every safety net the regulated route provides.
- Treat “from £69” ads with care. Headline prices are usually promotional first-month rates; this guide records standing monthly prices instead.

Saxenda is the cheapest entry point, but the medications work differently and are not interchangeable. Saxenda is a daily injection, Mysimba and orlistat are tablets rather than GLP‑1 injections, and daily dosing changes the real monthly cost. How do I check a seller is legitimate?
Look the pharmacy up on the General Pharmaceutical Council register (pharmacyregulation.org) and clinics on the CQC register (cqc.org.uk). Avoid any seller you cannot find on a regulator register.
